Work

Work that
carries forward.

BHA develops, incubates, and partners on work that helps Black families and communities protect property, preserve significant places, strengthen intergenerational ties, and build institutions that endure.

Some projects begin with BHA. Some are built with partners. Others are supported while they grow into something more durable.

See how the work takes shape

How the work takes shape

Different projects need different kinds of support.

A BHA initiative

Work created and led by Brunson Heritage Association.

BHA-incubated

Emerging projects BHA helps develop toward greater independence, permanence, or institutional capacity.

In partnership

Work developed alongside communities, institutions, funders, or other organizations with shared responsibility.

BHA may also provide selective fiscal sponsorship for mission-aligned charitable work as that practice develops.

In development

Some work begins before it has a public name.

BHA is developing new work around family property, historic places, intergenerational stewardship, and new cultural institutions. We share new projects when the relationships and foundation needed to grow responsibly are in place.

What connects the work

The projects may look different.
The question is the same.

What should still be here a generation from now?

BHA looks for work where family, place, property, and institutions intersect — and where thoughtful stewardship can change what gets carried forward.

What BHA looks for

Work belongs here when it can become more durable because BHA is involved.

Early-stage work

Not everything we are building is public yet.

Some initiatives require time to secure relationships, clarify stewardship, assemble resources, or establish the right governance before they are introduced publicly. BHA treats that early stage as part of the work — not as something to rush past.

A next step

Have something that should last?

If you are protecting family property, preserving a meaningful place, or building a project meant to serve future generations, we should know each other.
